Data Mining and Predictive Analytics

In this project, I have analyzed the criminal incidents/ behaviors in the city of Los Angeles and predicted whether there is any impact on the real estate prices in crime-affected neighborhoods. I performed Data engineering using Python and R to clean the data with 1.9 million observations and used it to extract Zip Code/Census Tracts by implementing Reverse Geocoding and by calling API from api.census.gov/data respectively. The project then moved forward by merging the crime and rent datasets using a R code. I further trained predictive models such as Naive Bayes, Multinomial Logistic Regression, XGBoost and Neural Networks to predict the real estate rent prices in these crime-affected neighborhoods for the city of Los Angeles and generated data visualization reports in R Plotly. These finding were presented to a group of 40+, completed in 6-week development window [Click on the icon to see the report]

Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Business

The goal of this project was to manage data from Yelp Datasets to perform predictive and descriptive analysis on it using major Big Data technologies such as Spark, Python and AWS. I led a team of five to analyze and predict user ratings using a semi-structured Yelp dataset (2 million records) using Spark and Python on AWS. I also created and managed AWS clusters to run spark scripts using Jupyter Notebooks. In addition to that, I cleaned data and performed dimension reduction, one hot encoding and feature engineering operations to feed data to Machine Learning models like Linear Regression, Gradient Boosting and Random Forest. We were able to achieve an accuracy of 75% with Random Forest Algorithm.

Web-based System to Search Alumni Information

The goal of this project was to create a web-based system to acquire the Alumni information stored in a Microsoft Azure database. The initial stage of this project was to create user stories and ER diagrams. I then, developed the SQL query structure and table structure for 100 record Microsoft SQL Server database of Alumni contact information. The SQL queries were created for a variety of search criteria such as look up Alumni information based on University, Major, Company, Location, Degree type and also on a number of combinations of these criteria. I further used R on Shiny Dashboard to develop live front-end and back-end web framework and hosted the database on Microsoft Azure SQL Server. The final stage of this project was to perform data visualization using R Plotly. This project was completed in a 6-week development window and presented live with a fully-functional system to group of 50+ people [Click on the icon to see the report]

Business Process Intelligence Augmentation

This project focused on Business process analysis of the operational framework of our client. I led analysis for improvement of business intelligence processes for the client. based on collected data and documented System Analysis Report and Design Phase Report (DFDs, ERDs and CRUD Matrix). I further, Implemented the physical system design by performing a feasibility analysis on the candidate solutions available and performed data collection, filtering and connecting the data in Amazon AWS Redshift to Power BI. I have utilized Agile Development Methodology to generate and publish Analysis reports on Power BI after 8 weekly sprints. I also performed Acceptance testing and demonstrated live to a group of 70+

Proposal and Recommendation for IT business expansion between different countries

This was a consultation project to analyze the functional and non-functional IT requirements, historical data sets, business strategy and operation for the networking capabilities of the specified country. It involved gathering and scrutinizing financial and written policy/procedure information and developing cost and resource assessment documentation, infrastructure planning map and business process workflow. Based on this information, I had prepared the recommendations for possible locations for supplier outsourcing and proposed service providers. This project also involved performing complete SWOT analysis of the Internet and Telecom service providers in the specified country to reach the proposed recommendation. Google Analytics Project

The goal of this project was to design, develop and implement digital strategies for our client GiftsLe. Our team had multiple interactions with the client to understand their business domain, their customer demographics and their mission. In this project, we analyzed the google analytics data obtained from their E-commerce website to understand the traffic flow and customer engagement. Based on the data and as a part of the 'Google Challenge', we developed ad-search campaigns for the client. It involved following a trial and error method to constantly monitor which ad-groups and keywords resulted in more traffic to the site and which of them resulted in improved customer engagement. My campaign was monitored for a period of 3-weeks and it resulted in an increased CTR of 10.3%. As a part of this project, we also set up the Google Tag Manager settings for the client. In addition to that, I was able to acquire the Google Analytics for Beginners and Advanced Google Analytics certifications.

A Customizable Food Ordering System for the College Canteen

In this project, I designed an application and two websites to allow flexible management of canteens on campus and to allow the students and faculty members to order food online from any of these canteens. The canteen menu, their prices and also the canteens themselves can be modified by the canteen manager or the college admin at any point of time. It had an additional facility for wallet recharge for the students and faculty members and I had also implemented Notification-Messaging chain through SMS once the recharge is successful. This project involved programming the models for three canteens using Java SE 6 programming language and Android 4.2 Jellybean as working platform. I engineered the software using Eclipse Indigo as an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and used JSP/SERVLET and SQLyog for remote database access from the main system of the restaurant.
